YOUTH SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICES

Additional services provided to promote the emotional, physical, and sexual health of the borough’s youth.  The PLACE, our youth site located in the St. George neighborhood, provides clients with a safe environment and staff they can trust.

We provide training to youth ages 13-21 on:

  • HIV/AIDS
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
  • Pregnancy and Prevention
  • Abstinence
  • Relationships
  • Talking  to peers about HIV prevention and testing
  • How to conduct educational presentations
  • Raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and other sexual health issues

  • Crisis intervention
  • HIV testing
  • Referral for services
  • Safer sex information
  • Supportive counseling services
  • Walk-in sexual health information
  • Workshops and trainings
    • HIV 101, STIs, pregnancy, prevention, abstinence, relationships, body image, and sexual identity for youth, schools and community organizations
    • How to Talk to Kids about HIV/AIDS for parents and service providers
    • 4-part HIV prevention series conducted in high schools

Reproductive Health Service Collaboration

Our youth storefront has worked with Planned Parenthood of New York City [PPNYC] to expand the family planning services available to the Staten Island community.  PPNYC offers reproductive health services through a fully licensed clinic operating at 23 Hyatt Street, the PLACE every Monday from 10a.m. - 6p.m., Wednesday from 11a.m. - 6p.m. and Thursday from 11a.m. - 7p.m. These services are available to youth and men and women of all ages
